Overview

The primary role of the Sealer/Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking,sandingand other applications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents,and seams.

  • File, grind,and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools.

  • Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting.

  • Mix, blend,and matchpaintcolors.

  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns.

  • Monitorpartsusage and report on any materials issues.

  • Assistin ordering replacement equipment,partsand supplies.

  • Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision.

  • Performs all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.

  • Other duties asassigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset.

  • Previousexperience working with sheet metal is an asset.

  • Previousautobody prep experience is an asset.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset.

  • Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.

  • Mustbe able to distinguishcolours.

Working Conditions

  • Commercial/Industrial environment.

  • Manual dexterityrequiredtousenecessary tools.

  • Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).

  • Long periodsof standing.

  • Overtime asrequired.
