JomboneVictoria, British ColumbiaThe Role : As an RN in the PACU, you will provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery. You will monitor patient conditions, manage pain and any complications, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure a smooth and safe recovery process.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal care throughout the patient's post-surgical recovery.
Maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with patients, physicians, and staff.
Ensure the availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment necessary for post-anesthesia care.
Accurately document patient care and manage inventory, including monitoring and charging for supplies.
Identify and address any risks to patient safety, taking action to minimize or eliminate them.
Stay updated with healthcare practices through ongoing education and professional development.
Provide patient and family education regarding post-operative care and recovery instructions.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of PACU nursing experience (recent experience preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
