Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Blown Film Extrusion Operator for a leading manufacturing client in Canada. The role involves operating and maintaining mono-layer and multi-layer blown film extrusion lines, ensuring product quality, productivity, and compliance with safety and food-grade standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor machine adjustments
• Weigh resins, colorants, and additives as per production formulas
• Monitor product quality and perform continuous inspections during production runs
• Load and unload materials into mixers, containers, and conveyors
• Set up and operate calendaring and extrusion machines to produce plastic films of specified thickness
• Operate mono-layer and three-layer blown film extrusion systems independently
• Change dies, molds, and adjust equipment during production line changes
• Make extruded parameter adjustments to maximize productivity and reduce waste
• Carry out order changes and ensure quality compliance
• Maintain machine performance, minimize downtime, and meet output targets
• Follow health, safety, and “clean as you go” policies, including BRC food safety standards

Salary: $29.00 hourly, 36 – 48 Hours per week.

Requirements

Education
• Completion of secondary school required
• Diploma in Plastics Technology is a strong advantage

Experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in blown film extrusion or co-extrusion

Technical & Physical Skills
• Strong knowledge of mono-layer and multi-layer blown film extrusion machines
• Ability to operate machines independently
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
• Ability to handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination

Personal Skills
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Organized, accurate, and able to multitask under pressure

Benefits: Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.

Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. Rotating continental 12-hour shifts from
7:00 AM to 7:00 PM OR from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. During the first 6-week period, the worker will
work an average of 42 hours per week. Working days and days off will be determined on a rotational
basis, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 shifts per week. Overtime and work on weekends
may be required depending on the business needs
