Job descriptionPrevious acute care experience required. Experience in orthopaedics, stroke & neurology, respirology, geriatrics, and / or general internal medicine is an asset. Ability to reason clinically based on knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to modify interventions quickly according to patient status changes. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow therapists' instructions. Independent decision-making skills required. Good team player. Interest in relevant continuing education. Good work and attendance record required. Overview
Assess, prepare, and assist patients with treatment under the direction of therapists in various settings including the department, pool, and wards. Assist patients with transportation, maintain work materials and supplies, and ensure order and cleanliness in work areas. This role involves 4 shifts Monday to Friday and 1 regular weekend shift Saturday or Sunday, subject to operational needs.
Education
- Graduate from a recognized Community College OT / PT Assistant program.
