Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Health Sciences is seeking a qualified professional for a Part-Time Studies (PTS) curriculum development and instructional role in prosthetic technical fabrication. This contract supports the creation of a new online microcredential badge course : Lamination Techniques for Prosthetics.
The role includes 80 hours of curriculum development between February 9 – April 4, 2026, focused on creating the online theoretical components of the course. The successful candidate must hold a current or past OPC Registered Prosthetic Technician (RTP) designation and demonstrate strong expertise in prosthetic lamination techniques.
Duties & Responsibilities

- Design an online asynchronous learning module (~1.5 days of content) focused on prosthetic lamination principles and techniques.
- Develop instructional content using a variety of media (text, images, videos) grounded in established best practices and appropriate reference materials.
- Build the course within BCIT’s Learning Hub online platform, with support from BCIT’s Learning and Teaching Centre.
- Create assessments, including assignments and quizzes, that evaluate learners’ understanding of the theoretical material.
Throughout the development process, the contractor will receive orientation to the Learning Hub and ongoing support from a dedicated member of the Learning and Teaching Centre as well as the Prosthetics & Orthotics Program faculty.

Please note that this position requires on-campus presence. The successful candidate must be able to relocate to the Lower Mainland for the duration of the appointment if selected.

Salary & Details
Salary Range
Salary Range $60.98 to $121.96 per contact hour, inclusive of vacation and holiday pay.
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
