This facility features an NHL-sized ice rink, with seating for spectators, fieldhouse that can accommodate indoor soccer, lacrosse, and host events; a gymnasium that can accommodate multi-court play; climbing-wall; running / walking track; concession, multi-purpose rooms; and of course, an aquatic centre. If connecting with others and finding solutions is second nature to you, this could be the perfect role for you! What YOU’RE Responsible for : Ensuring everyone’s time on the ice is safe and enjoyable by supervising public skating and stick and puck hockey sessions. Being the go-to person for questions and information about our arena programs. Keeping track of attendance and confirming that all stick and puck participants have paid their fees. Acting as a guardian of safety by promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or near-miss incidents. Championing safety at regular meetings while fostering a positive attitude among the team. Maintaining adherence to legislative regulations, safety procedures, and respectful workplace standards. Jumping in to help with other duties as needed—it’s all part of being a team player! What YOU Bring : A natural ability to connect with the public, including kids, in a friendly and approachable way. Availability for evening and weekend shifts to keep the rink running smoothly. Solid skating skills (yes, you’ll need your own skates and a helmet!). Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR certification to ensure you're prepared for anything. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to handle every situation with confidence. The ability to work independently without constant supervision—you’re a pro at self-management. Flexibility to work across various arena locations, as needed. A Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, that meets City standards. What WE Offer : An hourly rate of $17.68.
