Job Description
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate layout and measurement of construction projects, utilizing their expertise in both traditional surveying techniques and cutting-edge 3D technologies. This position requires a strong understanding of data preparation, quality assurance, and the ability to manage projects independently.
Construction Stakeout : Accurately mark and lay out project elements on-site, including building corners, foundations, roads, and utilities, ensuring alignment with design plans and specifications.
As-Built Data Acquisition : Collect detailed measurements and data of completed construction elements to verify compliance with design plans and document project as-builts.
Data Preparation : Process and analyze survey data using specialized software, prepare field data for staking and machine control, and create comprehensive reports.
Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC) : Implement and maintain strict QA / QC protocols to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all survey data and deliverables.
3D Data Preparation : Utilize advanced 3D modeling software to create digital representations of construction projects, facilitating machine control and layout.
Project Management : Manage assigned survey projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and reporting.
Collaboration : Work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration of survey data into the construction process.
Qualifications
CET accreditation an asset
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in construction surveying, including stakeout, as-built surveys, and data preparation.
Expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar surveying software.
Professional Surveyor license or equivalent preferred but not required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, meticulous attention to detail, and adaptability to changing project requirements.
Experience with 3D data preparation for machine control and layout, knowledge of machine control systems, and experience with drone surveying technology.
