As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications :

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications :

Experience performing macroscopic and microscopic urinalysis testing. Strong Phlebotomy skills. Proven interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills are required. Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients / clients, families, staff, interdisciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical / methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Candidate must be well organized and flexible. Must be able to represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in the past two years : Epic / Connect Care LIS experience and knowledge. Medical Terminology. Experience in Healthcare (hospital) setting. Current phlebotomy skills.
