Job Summary

As a member of the BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions Team, you will be generally responsible for cleaning in a designated zone with an emphasis on quality control, health and safety, and striving to exceed client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean floors by sweeping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
• Dry / wet mop (wash / scrub) and polish hard surface floors. The washing / scrubbing of floors may be done with handheld or auto scrubbers; in large open applications, automatic equipment may be used.
• Strip and finish hard surface floors manually or with power equipment (when required).
• Steam clean or shampoo carpets (when required).
• Transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactor.
• Transport maintenance machinery between floors and job sites as needed.
• Cleans and stores equipment and machinery.
• Cleans glass areas requiring ladders, scaffolding, or extension equipment to reach.
• Cleans washroom floors including stripping and finishing.
• Cleans stairwells and elevator cabs where ladders are required.
• Loads and unloads supplies and replenishes cleaning solutions.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals (when required).
