OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (OT) WSIB Community Rehabilitation – Contract Location: Port Hope/Cobourg
Status: Independent Contractor
Compensation: Per-visit, block-funded WSIB model
About Qualicare Durham Region Qualicare Durham Region is a nurse-led, CARF-accredited home care organization that has been operating in Durham Region since 2017 and is now expanding its clinical services under a WSIB contract. Our WSIB rehabilitation program focuses on functional recovery, safety, and return-to-work readiness for injured workers requiring in-home services.
Role Summary We are seeking experienced Occupational Therapists to deliver in-home WSIB rehabilitation services under a structured, block-funded model. This role is ideal for clinicians who value autonomy, professional clients, and clear service parameters.
Compensation Model WSIB services are funded in treatment blocks, and compensation is provided per completed visit, inclusive of documentation.
- Full treatment block (8 visits):
$60–70 per visit - Partial treatment block (3–4 visits):
$45–55 per visit
Visit numbers, block type, and expectations are confirmed before services begin.
Key Responsibilities - Complete in-home OT assessments for WSIB clients
- Deliver functional, goal-oriented interventions
- Address ADLs, IADLs, safety, and environmental risks
- Develop measurable treatment goals aligned with WSIB funding
- Educate clients and caregivers
- Complete WSIB-compliant documentation within timelines
- Recommend discharge or transition when goals are met
- Collaborate with RN assessors and interdisciplinary team members
Qualifications - Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with COTO
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience
- Community, rehab, or return-to-work experience preferred
- Strong documentation and time management skills
- Comfortable working independently in clients’ homes
- Reliable transportation
