OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST 100%- 2ND POSTING

Applications are invited for this supernumerary full-time position, starting on July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be a member of the Complementary Services team and will be responsible to the Director of Complementary Services.

ASSIGNMENT:

The successful candidate will work with schools to provide universal adaptation measures to support class groups. They will act as a consultant for the school teams and will evaluate the student's development in different areas: fine and gross motor skills, sensory integration, perceptual-cognitive skills, social and rational aspect, daily living, and domestic activities; he or she analyzes the student’s functioning difficulties and determines his or her rehabilitation needs. This will include:

  • develop a treatment and intervention plan in occupational therapy to meet the student’s needs;
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to draw up and review a student’s individual education plan (including the treatment and intervention plan) and assess the progress;
  • prepare materials necessary for individual or group therapy sessions. Provide support to teachers and parents to develop attitudes and skills fostering the student’s readaptation;
  • conduct workshops by offering support to groups of parents in conjunction with those involved in intervention efforts (i.e. schools, health and social services network);
  • prepare and update files according to the standards related to the practice of the profession and the rules defined by the school board; prepare progress notes or evaluation, and include appropriate recommendation to support decision making. Prepare end-of-process and follow-up reports on interventions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be a member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec.

ASSETS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Experience working in a school setting as part of a multi-disciplinary team would be an asset.
  • Experience working with students who have severe behaviour difficulties would be an asset.
  • Experience working with students who have sensory difficulties would be an asset.
  • Excellent skills in both French and English, spoken and written.

ANNUAL SALARY:

In accordance with the Professionals’ Agreement: $57,492.00 to $105,469.00 (35-hour week), according to qualifications and experience.
