The Role GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Journeyman Electrician to join our valued client's team at a large institutional facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for the maintenance of all electrical services, fire and security alarms, distribution systems, and fixtures across the site.

This role operates within a dynamic, secure facility environment where you will directly support infrastructure operations and maintenance across a large-scale building portfolio.

The position includes supervising and mentoring on-site personnel as part of the facility's training program.

Additional positions may become available at similar locations across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Manitoba.

What You'll Do Maintain all electrical services, fire alarm systems, and security alarm systems within the facility Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical distribution systems and fixtures Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical infrastructure and related building systems Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to support maintenance activities Apply safety precautions and practices associated with electrical work in a secure facility environment Supervise and instruct on-site personnel in electrical maintenance tasks where applicable Operate specialized tools, equipment, and testing instruments relevant to the electrical trade Maintain compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety codes and regulations Perform duties at various facility locations as required What You Bring Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification (Provincial or Inter-provincial) Valid driver's license Ability to obtain and maintain an enhanced security clearance Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 23 kg using safe lifting techniques Strong written and verbal communication skills in English Willingness to work within a secure facility environment, including direct interaction with on-site personnel Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and shift work for a 24/7 facility operation Willingness to travel to various facility locations as required Preferred Qualifications Secondary school diploma or equivalent Completion of work-related continuing education courses or certifications related to facility maintenance or workplace safety Certification in preventative maintenance programs Valid Fall Protection, Confined Space, and/or WHMIS certification SMT designation from the Building Owners and Managers Institute Experience in operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment and building systems Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Experience supervising and/or mentoring individuals Experience working in a secure, industrial, or institutional environment Work Environment This position is located within a large, secure institutional facility Tradespersons are responsible for supporting facility maintenance while supervising and mentoring on-site personnel The role may require working in a variety of conditions, including mechanical rooms, outdoor areas, and secure zones All incumbents must be willing to work within a secure environment and comply with facility safety and security protocols Operational Requirements Willingness and ability to travel to various facility locations Willingness to work within secure facilities and mentor on-site personnel where applicable Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and shift work for a 24/7 facility operation Requirement to comply with applicable Occupational Health and Safety codes and regulations Must maintain valid occupational certification associated with the electrical trade What We Offer Competitive hourly rate of $42.85 to $46.51, plus Training Differential (7% to 9%) and $2,140 annual Special Duty Allowance Vacation leave starting at 3 weeks annually, increasing with years of service up to 6 weeks One-time entitlement of 40 hours additional vacation leave after 2 years of service 12 paid statutory holidays per year Paid personal leave, paid sick time, and bereavement leave Parental and maternity allowance Leave for preschool childcare, long-term care of parents, and family-related responsibilities Healthcare, vision, hospital, and dental plans Disability coverage Operational service time: after 10 years of service, employees can retire at age 50 Leave with Income Averaging option for extended leave periods Life insurance: $100,000 employee / $10,000 spouse / $5,000 per child AD&D insurance with critical illness and cancer coverage Extended health care: drugs, hospital, hearing, orthotics, nursing Paramedical services: chiro, physio, massage, mental health (annual coverage) Vision care: glasses, contacts, laser surgery, and exams Dental care: 80% basic ($2,500), 50% major ($2,500), $2,500 ortho for children Travel insurance: up to $5,000,000 per incident (trips up to 90 days) Ongoing training and career development support Apply now at www.grizzlytrekgroup.com Free AI Resume Enhancement Tool | AI Job Assistance available Powered by JazzHR
