Southern Health-Santé SudManitoba, CAReporting to the Manager, Health Services – Home Care, the Nursing Supervisor is responsible for professional nursing supervision of the home care nurse and application team members to ensure and improve the standard of client nursing services within the home care program. This is achieved through responsible management of staff and other resources. This position participates as a member of the Home Care Leadership Team, and works in collaboration and partnership with the Managers.
The incumbent will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Qualifications
- University degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing along with five years professional nursing experience
- Current CRNM registration
- Health Services Management course or equivalent
- Knowledge of all aspects of home care systems and programs
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards
- Demonstrated supervisory ability including experience in employee and labour relations
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to function within the professional code of ethics, professional standards and legislative requirements of the profession
- Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to program development and problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a multi-facility and program system
- Proficiency with Procura, MS Office suite of programs
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
- Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
- Good work and attendance record
