Le Centre de santé Tulattavik de L’Ungava est situé à Kuujjuaq. Il dispense l’ensemble des services de santé et services sociaux dans la partie est du Nunavik. Il dessert sept communautés Inuites avec autant de CLSC, un centre pour personnes âgées et un centre hospitalier à Kuujjuaq. Il emploie environ 1,000 employés : administrateurs, professionnels, médecins, dentistes, psychologues, infirmiers, travailleurs sociaux, personnel de soutien, employés occasionnels, etc.

Les communautés du Nunavik sont situées au nord du 55e parallèle où prévaut un climat subarctique. Il entraîne l’existence d’un pergélisol et ne permet aucune agriculture. Le Nunavik est la plus grande région couvrant environ le tiers de la superficie globale du Québec. Aucune liaison routière n’existe entre les communautés du Nunavik et le Québec méridional, ni entre les communautés du Nunavik elles-mêmes. On a accès à cette région et à ses communautés que par avion et par bateau.

Responsibilities

STATUT :  Temps complet PERMANENT (37.50 heures / sem.)

SERVICE :  Tusaajiapik - Résidence pour personnes âgées et Centre de jour

SUPÉRIEUR IMMÉDIAT :  Chef de programmes - Tusaajiapik - Résidence pour personnes âgées et Centre de jour

DÉBUT DE LA FONCTION : Dès que possible

FONCTIONS :

En collaboration avec l’ASI et le chef de programmes ; planifiera, supervisera et coordonnera les activités nursing de Tusaajiapik. Elle sera également appelée à faire de la garde en dehors des heures de travail sur rotation. Agira comme personne-ressource auprès de ses collègues pour la planification, la distribution et l’évaluation des soins infirmiers. Collaborera à la conception, l’implantation, l’évaluation et la révision de la programmation nursing du service, des outils cliniques et d’évaluation de la qualité des soins. Accompagnera le médecin lors des visites médicales et s’assurera des suivis. Sera le lien lors de transfert de patient inter établissement ou lors des visites dans les familles. Sera le responsable de l’accueil des nouveaux arrivants et s’assurera d’un plan d’orientation. Participera à des comités et rencontre à la demande de son gestionnaire.

Qualifications

Membre en règle de l'O.I.I.Q.;

Minimum de deux (2) années d’expérience auprès des personnes en perte d’autonomie physique et cognitive ;

Baccalauréat un atout

Bonne connaissance de la gériatrie, de la maladie d’Alzheimer et des diverses démences ;

Expérience de travail en centre de jour serait un atout;

Expérience de travail en milieu interculturel ;

Connaissance de la culture inuite et de l'inuktitut est un atout ;

Habiletés en communication interpersonnelle ainsi que résolution de problèmes ;

Capacité à maintenir un haut standard d’éthique et de confidentialité envers les clients et leur famille ;

Capacité à travailler en équipe multidisciplinaire ;

Disponible pour des gardes

Bilinguisme français et anglais ;

Permis de conduire valide requis.

SALAIRE : Min. 967.88 $ Max. : 1552.13 $ / sem.

PRIME DE VIE CHÈRE : 61.16 $ / sem.

PRIME D’ÉLOIGNEMENT : 203.66 $ / sem.

PRIME DE RÉTENTION : 391.86 $ / sem.

Toute personne salariée recrutée au Québec à plus de cinquante (50) kilomètres de la localité où elle est appelée à exercer ses fonctions aura droit aux sorties annuelles et au logement fourni selon son statut, logement à partager si requis.

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees : administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

STATUS : PERMANENT full-time position (37.50 hours / week)

SERVICE : Tusaajiapik Elders Home and Day Center

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Head of Programs - Elders and Day Center

STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

FUNCTIONS :

In collaboration with the ASI and the Program Manager; will plan, supervise and coordinate Tusaajiapik nursing activities. She will also be called upon to work on-call during off-hours on a rotating basis. Will act as a resource person to colleagues in the planning, distribution and evaluation of nursing care. Collaborate in the design, implementation, evaluation and revision of the department's nursing program, clinical and quality of care assessment tools. Accompany the physician during medical visits and ensure follow-ups. Will be the liaison for inter-facility patient transfers and family visits. Will be responsible for the reception of newcomers and ensure an orientation plan. Participate in committees and meetings as requested by his / her manager.

REQUIREMENTS :

Active member of the O.I.I.Q.;

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with persons with a loss of physical and cognitive autonomy;

Bachelor's degree is an asset

Good knowledge of geriatrics, Alzheimer's disease and dementia;

Experience working in a day care center would be an asset;

Experience working in an intercultural environment;

Knowledge of Inuit culture and Inuktitut is an asset;

Interpersonal communication skills and problem solving skills;

Ability to maintain a high standard of ethics and confidentiality towards clients and their families;

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team;

Available for on-call

Bilingualism French and English essential;

Valid driving license required.

SALARY : Min. : $ 967.88 Max. : $ 1552.13 / week

HIGH COST OF LIVING : $ 61.16 / week

ISOLATION PREMIUM : $ 203.66 / week

RETENTION PREMIUM : $ 391.86 / week

Any employee recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she / he is called upon to perform her / his duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her / his status, shared lodging if necessary.
