POSITION SUMMARY

Ontario Shores is currently seeking a Registered Nurse, reporting to the Clinical Manager for the Traumatic Stress Clinic, (TSC), within the Integrated Community Access Program, (ICAP), out-patient service area. The successful candidate will be a clinician with sound knowledge of clinical work in the area of mental health and addiction issues in the area of treating trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Responsibilities include : psychosocial assessment and consultation; individual psychotherapy; group psychotherapy; psycho-education; liaison with community resources; collaboration with all team member; active involvement as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Client service will be through traditional in person methodology as well as in a virtual environment using Telemedicine.

Qualifications Required And Preferred

• Registered with the College of Registered Nurses in good standing
• Current CPR-HCP is required
• Completion of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training preferred
• Certification or current enrollment in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) preferred
• Certification and competency in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and Recovery
• Experience working with Public Safety Personnel is preferred
• 3-5 years psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service preferred
• Application of and experience with evidence-based manualized treatment modalities, specifically CBT, CPT and IPT
• Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory College standards of practice
• Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required
• Knowledge and experience of the challenges involved in community reintegration of short and longer stay psychiatric inpatients
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated competence in individual, group and family therapy and crisis intervention skills
• Knowledge of psychotherapy in a clinic format is essential
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral / written communication skills
• The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language would be considered an asset
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the position
• Variable hours may be required due to patient demand
