Job descriptionUtilizes sound nursing practice principals, the RN will ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care Provides for nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and provincial regulatory RN scope of practice requirements Collaborate with the resident or their substitute decision maker about their needs, preferences and health status at move in, changes in status and ongoing assessment as required Creates, develops and evaluates plan of care, goals of care with the resident or their substitute decision maker. Demonstrates a professional working knowledge of all equipment used in the delivery of nursing care. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and guidelines that reflect the philosophy of the Community. Utilizes sound nursing practice principals, the RN will ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of the resident Participates in conferences with the interdisciplinary team providing care to the residents Acts as a role model for nursing team members performing within the professional guidelines of the College of Nurses of Ontario or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives and in accordance with relevant legislation Participates and / or delivers in-services and education with other nursing and other team members as required Teaches RPN / LPN’s and PSW / HCA’s in relation to new skills Fosters team learning by sharing knowledge among peers, acting as a resource person in areas of specialization, and providing follow-up and support for educational programs offered. Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN), Bachelor of Nursing (BN), or equivalent Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse or the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
