Your new role
As a Mine Planner reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will play a key role within the Mine Planning team, working on a rotational schedule (7:7 or 14:14, 12-hour shifts). This position is highly collaborative, partnering closely with technical services, underground operations, and geology teams.You will be responsible for short- and mid-term mine planning activities including production planning (drill, blast, and backfill), development scheduling, ventilation, survey coordination, ground control, and project work. The role involves facilitating mine design discussions, optimizing ore recovery, and ensuring safe and efficient mining operations. You will regularly engage with underground operations, conduct site visits, and contribute to planning standards, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.What you'll need to succeed
You will hold a degree in Mining Engineering or a related qualification (Mining Technologist or equivalent), and be registered or eligible for professional engineering designation. Experience in underground mining is considered an asset.Strong technical and analytical skills are required, along with proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik) and Microsoft Office tools. You are a safety-focused, detail-oriented professional with strongmunication and problem-solving abilities, capable of working both independently and within cross-functional teams.The role requires physical capability for underground work, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic mining environment.What you'll get in return
