Job description

RVH is seeking a MOLECULAR IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our program, you will play a crucial role in all aspects of Molecular Imaging within our Medical Imaging team. Join Team RVH, where you will work alongside passionate health professionals and support staff, committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. RVH has three nuclear medicine SPECT/CT cameras (new in 2025), as well as a PET/CT (opened in 2023).

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Nuclear Medicine Technology program, or recognized equivalent.
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  • Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program.
  • Current registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and molecular imaging procedures (i.e., nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT/CT) systems, and PET/CT.
  • Provide safe and timely services while maximizing the potential of the equipment.
  • Obtain informed consent and verify patient history and information.
  • Maintain records and documentation according to department policy and procedures.
  • Coordinate daily work schedule, prioritize emergency and add on cases as required.
  • Perform all procedures in accordance with radiation safety practices, applicable legislation, clinical standards, and departmental policies and procedures to ensure personnel and patient safety.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals required for daily examinations.
  • Administer radioisotopes to patients as required.
  • Adhere to the Standards of Practice as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario.
  • Working knowledge of Safety Code 35 and RHPA.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and/or procedure issues and contact appropriate service provider.
  • Perform Radiopharmacy and Quality Control Procedures in the department.
  • Maintain all records required by the CNSC and other legislative agencies.
  • Collaborate effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
  • Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required.
