Job descriptionDirect supervision of up to 15 full‑time employees including scalehouse, sorters, operators, drivers and laborers. Education : High School Diploma or GED (accredited). Experience : Four (4) years of relevant work experience. Previous experience leading a unionized team in an industrial environment. Recycling and / or trash collection operational and supervisory experience considered an asset. Previous experience with heavy equipment and scalehouse duties considered an asset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, particularly during afternoon shifts. Strong sense of urgency and commitment to meeting deadlines. Solution‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to challenges. Confidence in decision‑making and handling responsibilities.

Location : New Toronto MRF – 260 New Toronto St, Etobicoke ON
Shift / Schedule : Night Shift Monday–Friday 2 pm / 3 pm start to 12 midnight / 1 am finish
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and oversee execution of procedures to maximize productivity and efficiency of the location.
- Supervise and manage daily schedules of employees and operations.
- Investigate, review and control implementation of company regulations, policies and procedures and monitor for compliance.
- Review and evaluate work to ensure quality, timeliness and adherence to policies and procedures, and ensure maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Oversee personnel needs of the department including coaching, training and evaluating employee performance; provide input into termination, compensation and promotion decisions.
- Compile and interpret data from daily transactions.
- Create and submit weekly and month‑end reports to senior management.
- Reconcile P card to end‑of‑month report.
