Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a New Product Technician with one of our Global clients, located in Etobicoke.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience with bringing new products to manufacturing, a strong technical aptitude, and an excellent attention to detail coupled with electrical knowledge and a desire to work with a great team!

Responsibilities

  • Empower the team with your expertise by providing comprehensive technical training and support during product releases.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and testing of all Proto builds, documenting any anomalies or issues for swift resolution.
  • Perform failure analysis and repair tasks as needed to ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Test Engineers and Software Programmers to ensure smooth integration and successful new product launches.
  • Take charge of mechanical and electrical assembly of PCB assemblies during the critical NPI phase.
  • Oversee final assembly and shipping of products, ensuring that everything is delivered to spec and on time.
  • Handle materials with care, ensuring efficient flow throughout the production process.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements, streamlining operations and boosting productivity.
  • Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of hands-on experience as an NPI Technician (or in a similar role) within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to read and interpret schematics and test data to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Proficient with electronic test equipment, including multimeters and other essential diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify root causes and find innovative solutions.
  • High level of attention to detail and impeccable documentation practices to ensure accuracy and clarity.
  • Able to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, quality systems, and lean principles, with a passion for continuous improvement.
