Job description

Overview
Staffplus is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. If you are someone who likes working with your hands, fix machines and take things apart, then we are looking for you!

Job Type: Temporary - Ongoing

Location: Scarborough, ON

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour to $33.00/hour

Hours: 1:30pm to 10:00pm (Training: 7:00am to 3:30pm)

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain components including bearings, gearboxes, and drive systems
  • Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical schematics
  • Perform welding and basic fabrication as needed
  • Install and rig equipment during maintenance or upgrades
  • Use a CMMS system to complete work orders and maintenance records
  • Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright certification (433A Red Seal)
  • Experience with PLCs, AC/DC motors, and controls
  • Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, or similar equipment
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and overtime if needed
  • Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Welding experience required
  • Experience with motors, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this position
