The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Manager to oversee the operations of a closed-door pharmacy that focuses on providing specialty pharmaceutical products, high-cost drugs and patient-centric tailored services. This location is NOT open to the public. Patient counselling is generally conducted using virtual platforms. This is a full-time, permanent position with excellent hours.

Position Description

This role offers a Monday to Friday daytime shift. Working a 37.5 hour work week, between core operational hours (ie: 9am to 5pm) is a pharmacist’s dream!

You will be the Designated Manager for this remote dispensary. In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Managing a small team of Pharmacy Assistants and Registered Technicians.
Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients who require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans.
Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
Overseeing quality assurance to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
Online/over the phone medication counseling when required
Coaching, mentoring and providing direction to a small team
Dealing with escalated issues

Experience

3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist

Qualifications

A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario
Must be a Part A licensed pharmacist
Experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Supervisor a strong asset

Education

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacy
