Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Music Therapist to join the team at Windermere Care Centre in Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!
As a Music Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
- Develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate music therapy programs.
- Maintain an active clinical caseload providing assessment, treatment, documentation and education.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and approved research, provide formal and informal consultations to other staff and supervise and evaluate the work activities of music therapy practicum students and interns.
- Collaborate with the Manager regarding operational issues as related to the provision of music therapy.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy.
- Eligible for full, accredited membership in the Canadian Association for Music Therapy.
- One year of recent, related experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, non-verbally and in writing.
- Ability to supervise.
- Ability to interact effectively with others.
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities.
- General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.
- Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
