About the role:

Under the supervision of the CFO, the Accounting Director oversees the accounting operations of the company. He (she) is responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions

• Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements

• Coordinate activities of external auditors

• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process

• Manage the budget process

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable

• Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

• Evaluate accounting and internal control systems

• Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed

• Develop and monitor business performance metrics

• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

• Hire, train and retain skilled accounting staff

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, coupled with an accounting qualification

• CPA certification is required

• 5 to 8 years in a similar position

• A minimum of 2 years of team management

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft or Google tools

• Impeccable organizational skills

• Ability to solve problems;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent leadership

• Autonomy

• Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English). The person must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) since we have employees outside Quebec.
