We are seeking a creative, organized, and performance-driven Social Media Specialist to help bring our stories to life across digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone who understands how to build engaging social content while also supporting broader marketing and audience growth objectives.

Working closely with Brand & Content, Demand Generation, and Multimedia teams, the Social Media Specialist will manage day-to-day social media execution, support campaign launches, develop engaging platform-specific content, and foster audience engagement across key channels.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000 annually.

The Role

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for managing Adventure Canada’s social media presence across key digital platforms, ensuring content aligns with brand priorities, campaign objectives, and audience expectations. This role contributes to content development, campaign execution, community engagement, and performance optimization while maintaining a consistent and engaging brand voice across all channels.

The Social Media Specialist supports both organic and paid social initiatives, collaborates cross-functionally to develop platform-specific content, and monitors performance metrics to identify opportunities for ongoing improvement and audience growth.

Overarching duties and responsibilities:

  • Developing, maintaining, and executing social media calendars aligned with editorial and campaign priorities
  • Publishing content across key social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Ensuring content is tailored to platform-specific best practices and audience expectations
  • Maintaining a consistent and high-quality brand presence across all social channels
  • Supporting campaign launches, promotions, and demand generation initiatives through social media execution
  • Developing organic and paid social content that supports engagement, traffic, and conversion objectives
  • Collaborating with Brand & Content, Multimedia, and Design teams to develop platform-specific content and assets
  • Writing and adapting captions, concepts, and storytelling content aligned with Adventure Canada’s brand voice and values
  • Monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and interactions in a timely and professional manner
  • Engaging with followers, partners, creators, and relevant communities to support visibility and relationship building
  • Tracking key performance metrics including engagement, reach, traffic, and conversions
  • Analyzing social media performance and providing recommendations to improve effectiveness and audience growth
  • Collaborating with Marketing Operations to support accurate tracking, attribution, and reporting
  • Staying informed on evolving social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to support ongoing optimization
  • Engaged in interdepartmental collaboration, including but not limited to the following departments: Client Services, Marketing, Sales, Groups and Business Development

Skills & Experience Required

  • 2-4 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, or content-focused roles
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
  • Experience developing engaging, platform-appropriate content and messaging
  • Strong written communication skills with attention to tone, clarity, and consistency
  • Understanding of how social media contributes to marketing funnels and lead generation
  • Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable improvements
  • Experience with social media management, scheduling, and analytics tools
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality execution
  • Experience supporting paid social campaigns is considered an asset
  • Experience within travel, tourism, lifestyle, or purpose-driven brands is considered an asset
  • Personal commitments towards lifelong education and implementing the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action are strong assets

Education

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
