Job descriptionExcellent customer service and communication skills, able to handle difficult and complex situations. Strong judgment, decision‑making capabilities, and the ability to multi‑task. Proficient in English and French. Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence. GED or high school diploma required. Successful completion of the Customer Service Agent training program. Holding a valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence. Knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act, related regulations, and applicable government and company policies. Intermediate level computer skills. At least two (2) years of proven customer service experience. Ability to process and manage sensitive personal information. Strong judgement and decision‑making skills. Ability to observe accurately, monitor and evaluate candidate performance. Effective communication skills for various audiences. Fostering innovation and supporting organizational change. Thoroughness and a proven track record of high performance. Decisiveness under time constraints. Stress management in high‑pressure situations. Reliability and trustworthiness. Mental effort : moderate intensity > Physical effort : low intensity Little exposure to disagreeable elements; minor risk of injury, harm or illness. Must pass a Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Fingerprint Criminal Record Check. Employee hours vary based on customer demand and location operating hours. Shift hours may include extended or Saturday hours during peak periods. Attendance of a formal training session, including classroom instruction and on‑the‑job shadowing. Failure to complete this training results in immediate termination.
Starting hourly rate : $23.64
Serco Canada Inc. operates all DriveTest Centres across Ontario on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation. As a Customer Service Agent you will work at one of our 56 centres, providing assistance to members of the public throughout the driver’s licensing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service while delivering all Driver Examination Services.
- Assist applicants for all licence classes, including providing information about licence rules and regulations, verifying driver records, and taking applicant photos.
- Assess applicant eligibility, conduct vision screenings, administer written and oral knowledge tests, and photograph applicants.
- Schedule and dispatch road tests, issue temporary licences, and collect applicable fees.
- Investigate errors on driver records and initiate corrections.
- Comply with all regulations, policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety, environmental matters, and quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Ministry and operational requirements.
