We are currently seeking a highly motivated Telecom Design Engineer to join our Calgary engineering team. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be fully involved in all aspects of the engineering and design process.
As a Telecom Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the infrastructure for HFC networks. This includes planning and designing HFC networks, conducting surveys of existing infrastructure, coordinating with internal teams and external contractors, and maintaining accurate records of network infrastructure and equipment. You will be leading a team of designers and expected to mentor and coach team members through standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design HFC networks, including the selection of appropriate cable types, sizes, and routing;
- Determine the best pathway for cable placement and inform the designer of any roadblocks while identifying other utilities that may be in conflict;
- Review completed design for errors and efficiency.
- Ensure design specifications are maintained.
- Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements
- Advise, train, and guide other designers.
- Conduct surveys of existing infrastructure to identify the best locations for new cables & equipment and to ensure the overall success of the HFC network;
- Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the timely installation and maintenance of HFC infrastructure;
- Reviewing and approving the final QA / QC before submission.
