Job purpose
Under the direction of the Housing Manager and Team Lead ODD Landlord Engagement & Housing Retention the Community and Social Services Worker gain valuable handson experience in the housing and homelessness sector specifically in landlord engagement and housing stabilization support.
The Opening Doors Durham program aims to strengthen partnerships with landlords across the region while supporting individuals and families facing housing instability. The program promotes longterm housing solutions by offering incentives and support to landlords and tenants ensuring successful tenancies.
This position is funded through Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) which aims to provide quality summer employment opportunities for youth to develop skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

Duties and responsibilities
- Assist the Landlord Engagement Team with daytoday administrative and coordination tasks.
- Shadow Housing Engagement & Retention workers to gain handson experience.
- Support communication and followups with landlords and tenants.
- Conduct service satisfaction followups with clients (3 months; 6 months; 12 months).
- Support the ODD team with data collection and program evaluation tasks.
- Support Housing Retention Workers in organizing resources for tenants (e.g. hygiene kits gift cards tenancy information).
- Work collaboratively with the team to prepare other materials and documentation as required.
- Participate in meetings community events and outreach initiatives as required.
- Using a clientcentred antioppression antiracism traumainformed genderbased analysis plus and strengthbased approaches build relationships and establish rapport with clients and partners.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy protection measures for all community partners vendors staff and clients.
- Promote a highfunctioning teamwork environment that is inclusive harmonious cooperative efficient and productive.
- Participate in promoting a positive workplace culture through agency committee membership and departmental activities.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
