Job Description Reports on a daily basis to the Patient Care Manager while facilitating both the learning and staffing needs of the nursing team. Co-ordinates the daily activity and assists in patient population decision making of the unit / area. Accepts and completes special projects as assigned. Monitors the unit / area supplies in conjunction with the Patient Care Manager. Co-ordinates and monitors the continuous Quality Management activities of the unit / area. Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Evidence of commitment to continuing education. BScN preferred or in progress. Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire CNA CPMHN certification preferred Minimum of 1 year recent experience as a CRN in Mental Health Respond positively to stress, understand the impact of change and demonstrates an ability to manage change Demonstrated conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated teaching, interpersonal and public relations skills. Proven ability to work as a team member with peers, Program Leaders, Patient Care Managers, Professional Practice Clinician, Physicians, and other multidisciplinary professionals. Ability to co-ordinate activities within all areas of the program (e.g. researching, introducing, and implementing a new standard of care) Evidence of commitment to continuing education. Satisfactory employment and attendance record. The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.
