Position Summary

Labourers at On Side are important team members who help rebuild and restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Labourers are the MVP of the restoration teams. Compensation

• Salary Range: $23-$25/hour
• Overtime opportunities (where applicable)

What You’ll Do

• Clean and restore areas impacted by water-related disasters
• Assist technicians with restoration tasks
• Perform demolition of affected structures and materials
• Set up and monitor drying equipment
• Support emergency mitigation efforts as needed

What You Bring

• Physically fit— water damage can include heavy lifting and getting into (and out of) tight places
• Understanding and experience using hand and power tools
• Mechanical aptitude— you can look at something and just know how it works
• Interest in demolition and emergency mitigation
• Tech savviness (capability to learn applications and computer programs as required)
• Willingness to follow all company safety requirements including wearing full PPE as required: Full face masks require clean shave (if applicable)
• Curious nature, always want to know how things happen
• Strong people, teamwork and communication skills
• Attention to detail, ability to follow directions
• A safety mindset
• Valid driver’s licence, clean drivers abstract and a clean criminal record (we do check)
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
• Availability to work out of town for extended periods as required

Of Note:

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
