Position: Post Secondary Photography Studio Manager

The Role

In this role, the Studio Manager will support the Higher Education / Post-Secondary Sales Manager in driving operational excellence across both field and studio environments. The role focuses on team development, studio performance, customer experience, and revenue growth through strong relationship management, customer retention, and increased participation in graduation programs.

What You Will Focus On

Leadership & Operations

  • Support the Higher Education / Post-Secondary Sales Manager in the effective day-to-day operation of the studio, including customer and staff relations.
  • Lead the achievement of studio performance objectives through operational excellence, customer engagement, and revenue-generating initiatives.

Field Operations

  • Field supervision, training, and mentoring of photographers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to enhance photography quality, professionalism, and customer interaction.
  • Support the hiring and onboarding of casual photography staff as needed.
  • Ensure consistent execution of company standards and service expectations in the field.

Studio Operations

  • Coordinate and oversee studio scheduling, ensuring optimal customer flow and appointment management.
  • Support studio staffing, including scheduling photographers and ensuring appropriate coverage to meet demand.
  • Actively participate as a studio photographer.
  • Monitor studio performance to ensure a high-quality, consistent customer experience.
  • Ensure proper equipment care, maintenance, and organization.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance studio efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall performance.
  • Monitor participation levels and booking trends, recommending strategies to increase graduate participation and studio utilization.

Administration & Coordination

  • Perform field administration as assigned, which may include responsibility for regional payroll, assigning photographers to jobs, and approving timesheets.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all Edge Imaging programs and procedures to support effective implementation and service delivery.
  • Ensure all job and order information is completed accurately and on time, in accordance with company systems and policies.
  • Communicate studio matters effectively to the Higher Education / Post-Secondary Sales Manager.

Customer, Client Experience & Revenue Growth

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students, graduates, institutional partners, and key campus decision-makers.
  • Support revenue growth by maximizing participation in graduation and photography programs, identifying opportunities to increase engagement, and promoting available products and services.
  • Assist with client retention and renewal initiatives through proactive communication, exceptional service, and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with the Higher Education / Post-Secondary Sales Manager to identify opportunities for business growth and increased market penetration.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving and dispute-resolution capabilities when dealing with staff, customers, and institutional clients.
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service is consistently delivered across both field and studio environments.
  • Act as a strong ambassador for the Edge Imaging brand.

Planning & Execution

  • Support studio planning and preparation, including workforce planning and hiring initiatives.
  • Assist with renewal processes as assigned.
  • Assist with job setup, promotion, and advertising activities.
  • Support the execution of regional sales and participation initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma or degree in Photography preferred.
  • Strong customer focus with excellent organizational and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to support sales, customer retention, and participation growth initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in both field and studio environments.
  • Experience working with post-secondary institutions or young adults is an asset.
  • Ability to work across multiple locations, including campuses and studio settings.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds of equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
