JOB SUMMARY :
The Manager, Indigenous Relations North is accountable for providing people-centred leadership and strategic direction to high-performing, results-driven teams and functions. As a member of SaskPower’s management team, this role is responsible for creating a positive and inclusive employee experience by developing talent, strengthening team capability, and fostering a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous learning.
This position plays a critical role in advancing respectful, relationship-based work with First Nations and Métis communities by ensuring organizational practices are informed by Indigenous perspectives, governance systems, and community informed approaches. The Manager provides clear direction, coaches performance, and ensures operational activities are aligned with departmental and corporate priorities.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Participate in the development, implementation and management of departmental and corporate policies and programs, that advance Indigenous engagement and reconciliation, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and commitments.
- Assist assigned staff with career planning, ensuring effective and appropriate succession planning.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and staff to integrate Indigenous knowledge and priorities into planning sessions, aligning objectives with organizational and community needs.
- Promote a proud and productive environment for all employees by fostering engagement and establishing and modelling corporate core values.
- Proactively identify and address issues impacting Indigenous communities and relationships, using innovative and appropriate solutions.
- Assist in the development and delivery of presentations to SaskPower’s Executive, Board of Directors and / or other Government committees regarding policies, programs and / or budgets.
- Manage resources effectively by identifying efficiencies and best practices in Indigenous engagement; focusing on industry best practices and continuous improvement.
