Reporting to the Director of Retube Tooling Design, the Senior Mechanical Engineer would support one of the various Refurbishment or New build projects on the Retube Tooling team. This knowledgeable engineer will be responsible for executing commercial and internal work packages and projects, with respect to machine design and process systems including other closely related disciplines.

This role will be based in Pickering, ON.

Your role within the team :

• Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on mechanical equipment and Retube Tooling systems.
• Perform project lead responsibilities by guiding technical staff on a variety of tasks in design, development, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning.
• Prepare / review design documentation such as design requirements, design descriptions, design specifications, technical specifications, component specifications, test procedures and plans, commissioning procedures, registration design submissions packages, flow sheets, detail drawings, general arrangements, and equipment layouts.
• Review design reports, analysis reports, calculations, documents, and drawings in support of design verification.
• Perform / review complex technical calculations relevant to design such as heat load analysis, fluid mechanics, and calculations related to component integrity.
• Conduct technical, conceptual and detail design meetings in front of peers, clients and suppliers.
• Provide technical guidance to design drafting staff as well as mentoring and oversight of junior engineers.
• Work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, client and company procedures.
