HAYS Recruitment is collaborating on an exciting project in Prince Rupert with a valued client, seeking Mechanics, Millwrights, or Heavy-Duty Mechanics (open to 4th, 3rd, or 2nd year apprentices).Your New CompanyOur client, with 500 employees across North America and expanding by 30% annually, is located in Prince Rupert. They are undertaking a $750 million expansion at Raymond CN Port of PR to build a transloading platform for goods transfer, specializing in transloading resin (plastic pallets). The project requires skills in heavy-duty mechanics, electricians, an interest in mechanics, and heavy vehicle experience. While Red Seal certification is ideal, it is not mandatory.Your New RoleThis position is a new headcount and reports to a Maintenance Manager with 20 years of experience, who will be able to sign hours for apprentices. The team consists of 5 mechanics. Key performance indicators (KPIs) include completing tasks on time, adhering to the maintenance schedule, repairing equipment, and ordering necessary parts. The work schedule follows a 4 on x 4 off pattern (5 : 30 am – 5 : 30 pm), totaling 48 hours per week. Travel is not necessarily required, but employees from other locations may travel to support the Prince Rupert site.Your Technical SkillsThe technical skills required for the role include expertise in bagging lines, handling heavy vehicles, working with electrical controls, and possessing strong mechanical knowledge.
