Medium–High Voltage BMG Supervisor – Hot Rolling Mill
Location: Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts (9 hours with 1-hour lunch)
On-Call: 1 week every 4–5 weeks

Role Summary:
The Medium–High Voltage BMG Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high-voltage electrical systems within the client's Hot Rolling Mill. This role demands deep technical expertise in power distribution, substations, and high-voltage switchgear systems, alongside leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Due to the safety-critical nature of the role, candidates must have strong Canadian industrial experience and meet provincial and federal safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise electrical maintenance for medium and high-voltage systems in the Hot Rolling Mill.
- Lead electrical technicians in safe troubleshooting and repair of high-voltage equipment.
- Oversee maintenance of transformers, switchgear, breakers, and protection relays.
- Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure electrical reliability.
- Ensure compliance with CSA Z462 and Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
- Perform Root Cause Analysis on electrical system faults.
- Coordinate shutdowns, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and safety teams to optimize system performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports within CMMS.
- Reinforce a strong safety culture through training and supervision.

Requirements
- Valid 442A Master Electrician license or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in high-voltage electrical maintenance within a Canadian industrial environment.
- Completion of Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) training meeting CSA Z462 and OESC standards.
- Hands-on experience with switchgear, transformers, relays, and power distribution systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of electrical protection and safety systems.
- Excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
