Description :
The Division of Respirology, Department of Medicine, University Health Network / Sinai Health (UHN / SH) at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto is seeking a Respirologist with clinical focus on Sleep Medicine to join the Toronto Hospital Department of Medicine. The primary location of practice is Toronto Western Hospital, 399 Bathurst St, Toronto, ON M5T 2S8, with some clinical activities at Toronto General (200 Elizabeth St, Toronto, ON M5G 2C4) and Toronto Rehab-University (550 University Ave, Toronto, ON M5G 2A2) sites. The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician-Teacher, with interest and demonstrated excellence in teaching and patient care activities. Advanced training in both Medical Education and Sleep Medicine (RCPSC AFC in Sleep Disorder Medicine, ABIM Board Certification in Sleep Medicine, or equivalent) are required for this position. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is October 1, 2025 or thereafter.
Clinical responsibilities will include attending on the Respirology inpatient consultation teaching service, outpatient clinics in Sleep Medicine and General Respirology, and interpretation of polysomnograms and pulmonary function tests. The Sleep Program is supported by 6 fully-equipped sleep lab beds at Toronto General and Toronto Rehab.
The successful candidate will be involved in teaching of medical trainees at all levels, including subspecialty Sleep Medicine fellowship program. Candidate will also be eligible for a cross appointment to Sinai Health (600 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 1X5).
The successful candidate must hold a MD degree or equivalent, be certified (or eligible for certification) in Respirology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and hold, or be eligible for licensure in Ontario. Proficiency in English is required.
Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300,000 - $380,000 (fee-for-service estimate) and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
