Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Planning & Reporting, the Research Analyst participates in major analytical and research projects and independently manages smaller-scale research projects. The role provides a variety of research related responsibilities, such as organizing and coordinating research interviews and focus groups.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, or in a relevant subject field.
- Sound experience with relational databases, data analytics, and data visualization. Graphic design is an asset.
- 1-3 years experience as a data analyst or similar role
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Some knowledge of the principles, practices and process of research methodology.
- Some knowledge of social housing and social policy is an asset.
- Extensive knowledge of Excel, Word and Power Bl.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop research documents, including literature, and scoping reviews.
- Ability to learn and apply departmental policies and the Commission's mandate.
- Ability to extract, summarize and analyze data.
- Ability to plan, organize and manage research projects.
- Ability to meet deadlines and to identify key milestones or measures of success.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
