Position Summary :
The Manufacturing Supervisor will play a vital role by overseeing the workflow management of the production department ensuring safe, accurate, and timely processing of client orders. The Manufacturing Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to department employees, plan for production requirements, maintain production goals, implement manufacturing processes and continuous improvement initiatives ensuring safety requirements are met and maintained as well as overseeing departmental inventory levels.
Working within a small team, the right candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality work, with a "roll up your sleeves" kind of attitude.
This position requires strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills and someone who is well-versed in Windows production, casement lines, and production environments. The successful candidate will be disciplined, punctual, and a strong team player dedicated to generating to an engaged and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provides direction to the department ensuring execution of production daily goals, allocation of resources, ensuring machine maintenance, collaboration with external production departments, and completion of work according to health and safety rules and company policies by creating a safe work environment and engaging department culture.
- Supervises and coordinates workers engaged in assembling window frames, installing hardware, glazing, and operating welding machinery.
- Review production schedules to determine workload, manpower allocation, and material flow.
- Coordinates with external departments to facilitate production goals.
- Completes reports and associated documentation to review with management.
- Handles escalations in a timely manner utilizing conflict resolution to define long-term positive solutions.
- Analyzes current and established procedures and partners with the Production Manager to implement cost-effective process improvements to promote productivity and department efficiencies.
- Enforces health and safety policies and procedures in daily work activities by monitoring work performed, conducting department health checks, delivering safety talks, monitoring first aid supplies, ensuring PPEs worn, and creating general safety awareness among employees.
- Participates in production meetings providing department status reports, informing the team of critical events, and communicating efficiently with department supervisors and production leadership.
- Ensures equipment maintenance is completed in a timely manner to reduce downtime.
- Audits quality of output by identifying infractions, training employees, enforcing established standards, and designing long-term action plans.
