Monitor and improve machine process, develop work instructions and train employees
Participate in implementing safety improvements
Evaluates and improves manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs
Assist in determining root cause and provide corrective action with customer product complaints
Participate in projects that support in reducing downtime and scrap
Organize, plan, and commission new or modified production lines
Investigate operational problems affecting production in a systematic and methodical manner
Validate implemented manufacturing process improvements to ensure desired results and sustainability
Develop appropriate manufacturing process documentation for integration into the company’s quality system
Provide training to operators, supervisors, managers on new or modified processes
Assist Maintenance in identifying and resolving problems, including performing preventative maintenance activities as needed
Participate in Kaizen events. Understand factors contributing to KPI’s and identify areas of improvement
Stay current with industry standards and emerging technologies to recommend and implement new systems or equipment

Requirements of the Manufacturing Engineer :
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (preferably manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering)
3+ years of relevant experience in an engineering role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality improvement methods, including Lean Manufacturing concepts
Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work both alone / with minimal supervision and in team environment
Strong problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
Excellent computer and data analysis skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorks, and CMMS systems. Experience with statistical & data analysis tools (such as Minitab) is also highly preferred
