PLANT MANAGER

At Steelcon, the Plant Manager will lead and oversee all operations and activities in a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production processes, quality control, safety compliance, and optimal resource utilization. The Plant Manager will be responsible for the P&L of the facility and will be tasked to create and execute plant in line with the company’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities :

Leadership & Operations

  • Direct daily plant operations including production scheduling, logistics coordination, and maintenance planning.
  • Manages all fabrication, welding, and coating operations within the facility.
  • Develop practical strategies to improve manufacturing processes and reduce operational costs.
  • Responsible for meeting fabrication throughput, weld quality standards, and cost efficiency targets.
  • Support implementation of company policies and ensures AISC, CWB, and OSHA compliance.
  • Manage plant budget effectively and monitor expenditures against targets.
  • Collaborates with corporate and site teams to identify, analyze, and resolve root cause issues, implementing sustainable solutions that prevent recurrence and improve operational efficiency.

Team Management

  • Lead and develop department managers through clear expectations and regular feedback.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to supervisors on process improvements to meet production goals.
  • Build team capabilities through training and professional development opportunities.
  • Performance & Improvement

  • Implement targeted continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles.
  • Work closely with supply chain, engineering and quality teams to uphold production standards.
  • Track key production metrics to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
  • Communicate facility performance and needs effectively to corporate leadership.
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 7-10 years in a manufacturing environment in a similar role.
  • Experience with Lean Methodology and implementing continuous improvement initiatives is a strong asset.
  • Education and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality control practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
