Job description
Join Amrize as a Maintenance Supervisor, Concrete Products and help construct what's next. If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America - we want to hear from you!

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Supervisor, Concrete Products will drive and implement programs to ensure a more robust, cost saving, efficient, and safety-focused plant maintenance system for our Concrete Products plants. The primary objective for this position is to create a proactive and preventative maintenance program.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Tracking overall maintenance costs, break down costs by categories like parts and assets, through the use of the software and pinpoint actions and assets that incur the highest costs. Meet repair deadlines and keep maintenance metrics (KPIs).
  • Find areas for improvement and focus on proactive maintenance strategies like preventive and predictive maintenance. This means, for example, looking for opportunities to bring work in-house (e.g.: hiring a certified mechanic instead of paying a contractor every time something breaks down). Innovate methods and equipment to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Assist maintenance employees and subcontractors in the creation of Job Hazard Analysis for all maintenance functions.
  • Schedule equipment's preventive maintenance for the year in advance (E.g.: Oil changes).
  • Find training opportunities for current workers to avoid expensive third party services.
  • Forecast inventory needs and decrease spare parts inventory costs.
  • Organize personnel for daily maintenance functions and repairs. Supervise them for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Improve the onboarding process for machine operators so they have less chance of damaging equipment by improper use.
  • Negotiate with maintenance vendors and spare parts providers.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Education Preferred: Journeyman Millwright or Journeyman Electrician or Mechanic preferred.
Required Work Experience: 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite.
Travel Requirements: 5%

Additional Requirements:
  • Leadership capability and good work ethic.
  • Team player.
  • Safety and Quality focus.
  • Ability to function effectively in stressful situations.
  • Decisiveness.
  • Schedule sensitivity.
  • Initiative.
  • Planning.
  • Multi-tasking.
  • Innovative.
  • Versatile.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Flexible Health & Dental benefits coverage for you and your dependents.
  • A generous Pension Plan designed to support you through various stages of your career and life.
  • Access to voluntary programs like RRSP and TFSA for future financial planning.
  • Healthy Living support through an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential assistance for work, health, or life challenges.
  • Easy access to mental health and well-being support.
  • Service recognition awards to celebrate your contributions.
  • Perks & discounts on a variety of products and services.
  • Access to online learning platforms, financial educational assistance, and a culture that fosters career growth and opportunities.
  • Financial support for new parents beyond statutory benefits.
  • An inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves.
  • A collaborative work culture in a supportive and team-oriented work environment.
  • Company-provided personal protective equipment ensuring your safety and comfort on the job where applicable.

As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
