• EVENINGS : 0.7 (Permanent)

2nd Floor - Child & Young Adult Health Services (CYAHS) Unit : Supports Children & Young adults with complex medical needs.

3rd Floor - Adult Health Services (AHS) Unit : Middle Aged population 25 - 40

4th Floor - Stabilization Unit : Supports children & adults for specific clinical interventions, develop and implement treatment strategies to reduce challenging behaviours

Float : Work in all 4 services areas - Child & Young Adult Health Services, Adult Health Services, Adult Services, Stabilization

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct nursing services to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities that focus on health promotion, restoration, maintenance, and prevention of illness and disability and palliative care. The Nurse is responsible for providing total patient care but may delegate some aspects of care to other health care team members in a staff mix model e.g. Resident Assistants. In addition to providing direct practical nursing services, the Nurse functions as a key member of the professional health care team and is responsible to provide day-to-day instruction and feedback to the Resident Assistants assigned to their care team.

As a Condition of Employment, new hires must complete a series of Occupational Health checks. This includes the requirement to confirm immunization or immunity of specific communicable diseases.
