Job description

Is this role right for you?

In this role, you will:
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Conduct risk assessments by working closely with internal and external partners to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities and mitigate identified risks to protect the Bank's assets.
  • Support implementation of physical security controls and standards to safeguard Bank's premises and provide consultation to business units on best practices.
  • Assist with employee preparedness campaigns for physical security incidents by providing workplace safety training, conducting education campaigns, and providing resources.
  • Support partner engagement, including assisting with conducting risk assessments and security planning to execute security related accountabilities pertaining to corporate travel and global events.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree, college diploma and/or equivalent related experience
  • High degree of fluency in English; French/Spanish desirable.
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP), Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
  • Possession of valid G-class or equivalent Driver's License
  • Minimum 3 years of security or relevant industry experience
  • Experience in development and delivery of training programs and awareness campaigns
  • Familiarity with industry security measures, current innovations/technologies, and applications.
