About the Role

Are you ready for the 8Twelve 8-step process? This is your opportunity to reach great heights! We are looking for highly motivated Mortgage Underwriters to manage mortgage deals, underwriting, and approval processes to grow our business. You will work alongside our Mortgage Agents to help fund deals, advising and structuring them to maximize returns, deliver exceptional response times, and increase efficiency while minimizing risks and ensuring compliance.

Requirements

Provide advice and solutions to meet clients' individual needs
Complete and assess mortgage applications, perform credit checks, searches, and other underwriting requirements
Ensure applications meet compliance and lender guidelines
Perform due diligence on all underwriting documentation
Prepare Signature and Compliance packages
Stay updated on processing requirements and follow the correct steps for loan submission
Coordinate with clients' lawyers and appraisers to meet closing dates
Build relationships with lenders

Success in this role requires

Mortgage Brokerage experience (highly preferred)

Being a driven, self-starter, problem-solver, organized, and a great communicator

3+ years of experience as a Mortgage Underwriter, preferably in a brokerage

Proficiency with technology and ability to work efficiently within a Mac-based environment using multiple platforms

Within 45 minutes drive to our Yonge / Sheppard office

Mortgage License (required)
