Duties and Responsibilities:

• Always park trailers on level ground before loading or unloading
• When reversing, use both side mirrors and ensure there are no pedestrians in pathway or likely to travel into, if unsure, always get out of the truck to check.
• Make sure you blow your horn while backing up.
• Driving speed should be at walking pace (no more than 10 Km per hour.
• Secure loads in such a manner that prevents damage to the products and truck.
• Make sure the brakes are applied and wheels are chocked.
• Always check if the floor of the loading area is safe.
• Open the truck door and level the dock plate for the loader/unloader to start the loading / unloading.Report any problems with the truck to your supervisor immediately . Wait until the driver is out of the truck and levels the dock plate before any loading/unloading is done.
• Use correct equipment like dollies or pump truck to remove items.
• Make sure the dock plate is levelled properly.
• Make sure safety chains are properly in place when no trucks are in docks.
• Once task is complete, remove the truck from the dock.
• The driver will close the back door of the truck, remove the dock plate and then move the truck.
• Keep area and plant tidy and clean
• Build orders and load orders onto truck - Pallets / Kits / Transporters.
• Conduct safety audits

Skills and Qualifications

• Must have valid DZ licence
• Clean Abstract
• Must have the ability to continually stock/unstock materials in racking or to the floor.
• Assist in loading drivers with stock for their routes
• Unloading drivers as they arrive to the plant with waste and store in proper areas
• Ideal to have a valid forklift licence
• Basic computer skills
• Previous warehouse experience is an asset
• Experience order picking, and packing of shipments
• Comfortable lifting upto 20 - 45 lbs repetitively
• Great attitude and reliability are very important
• Has great attention to detail - Keep appropriate records and reports.
• Must be flexible to work a variety of hours 1pm- 9pm, 3pm - 11pm or 5pm - 1am Mon - Fri.
