Commercial Litigation Associate (3–4 Year Call)

Location: Surrey
Salary: $130,000-$140,000+

Our client, a highly respected full-service law firm in the Fraser Valley, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate (3–4 year call) to join its thriving litigation group.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a lawyer with strong academic credentials who is looking to build a sophisticated commercial litigation practice alongside an experienced and well-regarded partner. The successful candidate will step into a busy practice with immediate exposure to a broad range of complex business disputes and meaningful client responsibility.

The Practice

The successful candidate will work on a diverse commercial litigation practice, including matters involving:

• Commercial and residential real estate disputes
• Land development and construction litigation, including builders' liens
• Commercial leasing disputes
• Foreclosure and creditors' remedies
• Shareholder, partnership, and corporate governance disputes
• Debtor-creditor and financial disputes
• Contract and business disputes
• Professional negligence and regulatory matters
• Defamation and unfair competition claims
• Mediation, arbitration, trials, and appeals

This role offers excellent courtroom exposure and the opportunity to work on complex matters from initial strategy through to resolution. The practice emphasizes practical, business-focused advice and high-quality advocacy.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of post-call commercial litigation experience
• Strong academic credentials
• Experience managing files and appearing before the BC courts
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and advocacy skills
• Strong analytical abilities and sound judgment
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative approach and desire to contribute to a busy, high-performing team
