Overview
Stepping Stones Crisis Society is seeking a Client Advocacy Specialist to join their team based out of Cold Lake . Stepping Stones is dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by domestic violence and crisis situations. They offer a range of services, including emergency shelter, education, and advocacy, all aimed at empowering our clients to overcome their challenges and achieve long-term stability and safety.
The full time Client Advocacy Specialist position is Monday to Friday (with some occasional weekends and evenings) and offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. Plays a vital role on the Client Care team through the delivery of services within the Path Forward : Client Case Management Program. This role provides direct client support and case planning tailored to their individual needs, coordinating advocacy to help clients address immediate needs, build safety and stability, and work towards meeting their goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a main point of contact for assigned clients throughout the Path Forward case planning process.
- Complete client onboarding, identifying needs, strengths, and risk factors; develop, implement, and regularly review individualized case management and safety plans in collaboration with clients.
- Establish and maintain trusting relationships with clients, providing trauma-informed care.
- Maintain regular conduct and check-ins to monitor client progress address emerging needs and adjust plans as necessary.
- Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation and short-term emotional support when required.
- Provide guidance and advocacy for clients transitioning from Emergency Shelter to Second Stage Housing or Outreach programs, maintaining continuity of care and strong connections to ongoing supports.
- Facilitate warm hand-offs, introductions, and referrals to internal programs, community resources, and external agencies ensuring clients receive necessary services and supports.
- Transport clients to appointments when necessary.
- Coordinate and facilitate client skill-building, educational workshops and group activities as appropriate.
- Providing coverage and support during emergencies.
