Description

Main function :

The job involves coordinating and supervising the work of a group of lifeguards, ensuring the cleanliness and good order of the premises, the availability of safety equipment, good order and discipline, and compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and supervises the work of a team of lifeguards. Sets schedules, monitors attendance and reports any deviations to supervisor.
  • Oversees the behavior of lifeguards in his / her charge.
  • Oversees the cleanliness of the facility and monitors water quality. Oversees daily installation of lifesaving equipment.
  • Can perform all lifeguard duties.
  • Ensures user compliance with rules, discipline and good order.
  • Applies facility opening and closing procedures, and can restrict access or close a facility in the event of danger.
  • Compiles data on pool use, water quality, filter maintenance and products used
  • Participates in pre-season training of pool personne
  • Performs any other related duties.
  • Prepares and completes various pool forms.

Latitude of Action

Work is performed under general supervision and in accordance with instructions and guidelines that are generally complete and according to techniques known to the incumbent. Initiative is required in the coordination, supervision and execution of work programs. The work involves problem-solving, mainly in emergency situations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High school diploma.
  • Valid National Lifeguard certificate.
  • Valid certificate of 12 to 15 hours of “first aid” course from a recognized organization.
  • Certificate of immediate care in resuscitation from a recognized organization.
  • One year's experience as a lifeguard
  • Good knowledge of fifirst aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques;pool regulations; swimming and lifesaving.
  • Knowledge of French and English for positions requiring it.
  • Able to coordinate and supervise the work of subordinates;
  • Able to exercise initiative and judgment;
  • Abel to React quickly to emergencies;
  • Able to have tact and courtesy.
