The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) reports to the Health and Wellness Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day safety and provision of personal care and services for seniors. By promoting the values, goals, and philosophy of the Home, the RPN engages in meaningful interactions with residents, families, and team members.

Responsibilities :

• Provides direction and supervision to PSWs / team members
• Conducts ongoing assessment of resident care needs, monitors and reports changes
• Participates in developing and modifying resident care plans, and evaluates their effectiveness
• Supports and participates in the orientation of new associates
• Responsible for medication management, ensuring medications are ordered, received, and administered as prescribed
• Liaises with residents, families, and outside agencies as required
• Respects the Residents’ Bill of Rights
• Communicates with residents' physicians as necessary
• Promotes a safe and healthy workplace
• Performs weights and blood pressure checks as required
• Provides ongoing education to associates to meet legislative requirements and learning needs
• Adheres to the Occupational Health & Safety Act
• Inspires and motivates staff, empowering them to excel
• Performs other tasks as assigned
