SciNet is Canada’s largest supercomputer centre, providing Canadian researchers with computational resources and expertise necessary to perform their research on scales not previously possible in Canada.We help power work from the biomedical sciences and aerospace engineering to astrophysics and climate science. SciNet operates as part of a national platform for advanced research computing and is funded by the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, the University of Toronto and other users / partners.
Your opportunity :
Reporting jointly to the Chief Technical Officer and the Manager, Budget & Operations Strategic Initiatives you will perform a wide range of financial, administrative, facilities and project-tracking functions for SciNet. You will support operational needs by monitoring restricted funds, processing payroll records, arranging facilities service calls, proving administrative support suchas taking meeting minutes, preparing agendas and maintaining the unit's attendance records.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Administering accounts for restricted funds
- Planning and administering expenditures for operating budget
- Monitor department budget to ensure expenditures remain within budgeted allocations
- Liaising with internal and external contacts to facilitate purchasing and / or procurement processes / and or policies
- Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks
- Acting as the first point of contact for event-related enquiries
- Determining logistical details and activities for events and / or programming
- Resolving issues that may occur during events and escalating problems as required
- Scheduling day-to-day project activities
- Taking and distributing meeting minutes
- Applying established standards to control the distribution of access to designated University spaces

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone :
USW Pay Band 11 $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation / Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
